On a sunny hot day this short hike is a treat. Our teens boys loved it as it a bit challenging to climb up the narrow path and rocky area. There’s two signs base falls and top falls. We saw both the only downfall the creek and falls had very little water. So didn’t get to see the waterfalls.
To reach this place take old Vernon and Spencer road. On Spencer road towards the end of the road it says private property. Before reaching the end to the right there’s a sign that says Mill creek park . The sign is kind of hidden. That’s the trail head. On the left there’s a spot to park cars. If you are using google maps it takes you into the private property and there’s no way through it.
This hike was so fun. The weather was perfect, and at least to the first cataract, the path was wide and easy. From the first falls up to the reservoir it's a progressively more strenuous scramble, but it's worth it. Dogs on leashes, places to picnic, and lovely cool water on a hot day. What could be better?
Easily accessed off Old Vernon road, there's quite a bit of parking.
