I’m not usually into sports bars, but love going to Dakoda’s for Kelowna Comedy events. It’s never a dull moment and tonight was no exception. We had lots of laughs and even won misfortune cookies and a how to be your own banker book SCORE. Unfortunately we didn’t win the claw game, but you can’t win them all.
Stopped by Dakota’s Bar & Grill in Kelowna and honestly, it was such a refreshing experience. The vibe here is totally different from your usual bar — it’s got this warm, laid-back energy that instantly makes you feel comfortable. You can tell it’s a place where regulars and new faces mix easily, and everyone we met — staff and guests — was super friendly and welcoming.
The food really surprised us in the best way. The protein in our sandwich was perfectly cooked, juicy, and flavorful. And the cheese? Just the right amount — enough to add richness without overpowering anything. One of our sandwiches was a little extra crispy, but not in a bad way — still super enjoyable. It felt like they actually care about what they’re serving.
There’s something about Dakota’s that makes you want to stick around a little longer — maybe it’s the cozy interior, the vibe at the bar, or the fact that you don’t feel rushed. I’ll definitely be coming back to try more food off the menu. If you’re in Kelowna and want a chill spot with great service and solid eats, give this place a shot!
Update: Another family outing, my favorite adventure with good food and meaningful conversations.
I love their Winter Ale.
From the Dakoda Burger to Chicken Caesar Salad and Kalamari.
Rachel was a great server and we loved her sense of humor.
The only negative part is their crappy parking lot. We could watch from above sitting by the window, confused parking, messy and haphazard, painful to watch.
Perhaps time to have the parking look at again to make it saver?
The family decided on a late lunch at this Pub.
Service was slow, staff pre-occupied, but once we got the food it was appetizing and very delicious.
The portions are huge even the very hungry end up with a "take-home" box.
One of the best Caesar Salads in town. The Club house was like a Tower architected on a white plate. We didn't care for the yam fries, wonder if they were breaded with Corn Flakes?
We will be back but hopefully we don't have to wait as long to be served.
